Biography
John Roades
John Roades established the law firm in 1977. He was born in El Campo, Texas, and has been an attorney in Wharton County, practicing in the area for over 35 years.
After obtaining undergraduate degrees from Wharton County Junior College and the University of Texas, he received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He served an internship with the Longview firm of Adams & Sheppard and later was an associate with Manske & Hajovsky in El Campo, Texas.
In 1983, he was appointed District Attorney of the 23rd Judicial District of Texas, which included Matagorda and Wharton Counties.
Mr. Roades has been included as a member in the College of The State Bar of Texas for many years, in recognition of his dedication to continuing legal education.
Mr. Roades was awarded the Private Attorney Involvement Award by Gulf Coast Legal Foundation in recognition of his time devoted to providing legal services to low income residents of the Houston area. Among many other activities, he has served as an officer of the WCJC Foundation Board, the Mrs. G. R. Hawes Foundation, Lions Club, Methodist Church, the Men’s Civil League, and Richmond State School Advisory Committee. He also has belonged to the Plaza Theatre Board, El Campo Lions Club, and El Campo Jaycees. Married for 30 years, John and his wife, the former Therese Pavlas, have two daughters.
